For the love of God!

22 For the sake of his great namethe Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own. 23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teachyou the way that is good and right. 1 Samuel 1:12

I love the idea of God being pleased to "make us his own."

I really like that even when the people have been off track for a good while God adjusts to them?

That feels like something we can easily miss to me, especialy in these older books, with all the rough edges, it just easy to miss how far God's love goes.

The people were disobeying. This was a concsesion on God's part. He wanted/expected to be king over his people. His people wanted another king. He allows it.

How would you like to come home to your spouse ever day and have them tell you they'd like another mate? What would that do to the way you love? God's love is bigger than ours!
