In today's reading we see the newly free people of Israel come to Mt Sinai, there we see several weird and inpressive things as God preps the people to share his words in the decolouge.

But, honestly the whole thing is strange, right? We could pepper this text with questions, we could wonder why the Commandments in Deuteronomy 5 are slightly different, we could ponder why Catholics, Protestants, and the Hebrews numbered the commandments differently, we could talk of how odd it is that they were supoosed to kill anyone that touched the mountain, the questions are a plenty!
