Much of what we see in today's reading is setting the stage for the start of Exodus. Here we get the story of how the people of Israel (previously Jacob) ended up in the nation of Egypt. Ultimatley this family gets a good setup, food, reconciliation, the "best of the land" of Egypt, and more.
But, there are some weird bits in there as we go...did Joe really use that cup for divination? What does that even mean? Why, why does Joe get to mess with these brothers of his so much?
